Dysfunction & Treatment

Injury or dysfunction of the pelvic floor can occur as a result of pregnancy and delivery, surgery, chronic constipation, menopause, aging, trauma/abuse and stress. It is because of this that it is important to take a holistic approach to treatment. This holistic approach will often include patient education, behaviour modification, manual techniques, breathing, and exercise as well as referral to other healthcare professionals if needed.

I recently graduated from the University of Lethbridge receiving my BSc in Kinesiology in the spring of 2020. I enjoy inspiring people and helping them reach their personal goals while educating them about the reasoning behind treatments. My long term goal is to become a physiotherapist and continue to help people. I have been involved in Judo for 18 years and made the national team in 2016 before retiring from competitions in 2018. Now, I enjoy doing Judo, playing tennis, dirt biking, ski-dooing, and jet boating in my spare time.

I have been involved with the sport of speed skating most of my life as an athlete and as a coach. Recently, I took up mountain biking and compete in endurance events throughout the province.

Outside of my sporting life, I have a wife and four children. My wife is a teacher and my kids are in University and College.

I am a fellow of the Canadian Academy of Manipulative Physical Therapist (FCAMPT) and certified in Medical Acupuncture (CAFCI). I enjoy treating clients who are dealing with acute or chronic pain (sprains, strains, and automobile accidents) and helping clients understand the nature of their injury and what direction rehabilitation should take. Recently I certified in the BradCliff Breathing Method.

Hi, I’m Patricia. I was born in Ontario but I’ve spent time in BC, Alberta and Saskatchewan and now I’m back in Alberta! I am excited to settle down in Lethbridge and explore the community and meet new people.

I earned my Bachelor of Science in Exercise and Health Physiology from the University of Calgary and my Master of Physical Therapy from the University of Saskatchewan.

I’ve spent much of my life in the pool, as a competitive swimmer, first throughout high school and then I was part of the Varsity Swim Team through the University of Calgary. I was also a part of the University of Calgary’s rowing team for my last few years of university. I have continued my swimming career by completing a fundamental coaching certificate and I have been working with the local swim team for the past two years. If I’m not at the pool, you will most likely find me with my nose in a book or out on the lake rowing.

During my time as an athlete, I experienced my fair share of injuries which led me down my path to becoming a physiotherapist. I had a huge appreciation for physiotherapists growing up as they ensured that I could continue the sport and activities that I loved. Now, as a physiotherapist myself, I wish to push that forward and use the knowledge and experience I have gained to help people return to the activities that they love so that they can enjoy their lives to the fullest. I believe it is important to empower people with the knowledge and skills to take control of their recovery for long term quality of life.

I look forward to meeting with you and being a part of your recovery and functional journey!

Hi, I’m Gina! I’m new to Peak Physical Therapy and new to Lethbridge. Growing up in the West Kootenays, the mountains have always been a big part of my life, so finding Peak feels like the perfect fit.

I completed my Bachelor of Human Kinetics at UBCO and my MScPT at UBC, focusing in rural health at their northern campus in Prince George - brr!

My approach to rehab is educational and exercise based, aiming to give you the tools you need to get back to doing what you love. I’ve completed training in cupping and soft tissue release, and I may incorporate these techniques into your treatment as needed.

Outside of the clinic, I love exploring new places and activities - most recently I’ve travelled to Haida Gwaii and am learning how to whitewater kayak. I’m excited to experience the arts scene, biking, and skiing around Lethbridge.

I’m looking forward to meeting you and helping you on your journey!

Born and raised in Lethbridge, I attended the University of Lethbridge and graduated with a Bachelor of Science degree (Exercise Science) in 2011. Shortly after, I started working at Peak, as a Kinesiologist, and have thoroughly enjoyed my time assisting the physiotherapists and working individually with clients on their exercise programs. I particularly like helping injured workers get back to their job and motivating people to persevere through their rehabilitation in order to achieve their fitness and lifestyle goals. It is so rewarding to see someone master their exercise program and re-discover a love of physical activity!

In my spare time, I enjoy reading, hiking, golfing, swimming, and travelling. During my travels, I have discovered a passion for water activities, including snorkelling, paddle boarding, and kayaking. On my travel bucket list is to one day snorkel the Great Barrier Reef and volunteer at a school/orphanage in Africa!

I look forward to helping you out in the gym with your personal exercise program and getting you back into “peak” shape!

When I moved to Lethbridge in 1988, I originally intended to stay for only one year. It’s been a long year! Although I might miss the beauty of the Maritimes and the lakes of Manitoba, the varied landscapes around Southern Alberta more than make up for that.

Now that both my kids are adults and I’m no longer needed as “mom taxi,” I enjoy walking, Nordic Pole walking, hiking, camping and reading. I also enjoy scrapbooking, but I have to admit, I’ve not done much in awhile!

Since Peak started more than 25 years ago, I have always used the best treatment options for my clients including manual therapy, acupuncture, kinesiotaping techniques, and collaborating with the other therapists to help achieve the best possible outcomes. In 2014, I received my Certification in Mechanical Diagnosis and Therapy from the McKenzie Institute of Canada and I can’t be more happy with the results my patients get from this approach.

What keeps me motivated? Hearing “thank you” from happy clients! I also enjoy helping injured workers return to their job, dancers back to rehearsals or judoka back to the tatami.

I was born and raised in Lethbridge. I completed my Bachelor of Science in Neuroscience at the UofL and my Master of Science in Physical Therapy at the UofA. I have returned to Lethbridge as this is where most of my friends and family reside.

I enjoy spending time with friends and family from anything between playing board games to going on hikes. I spend a fair amount of time weightlifting at the gym to improve upon my own health and fitness, as well as challenge my body’s mental and physical capacity.

I am passionate about helping people understand their own situation, so they are better equipped to tackle their goals. I am always happy to answer questions and I would encourage you to do so. My treatment philosophy starts with education and consists of primarily exercise and functional training.

I look forward to meeting you in the clinic and being part of your rehabilitation journey!

Hi, I’m Jessi! I was born and raised in southern Alberta. I started my degree in exercise science at Medicine Hat College where I dabbled in ACAC women’s volleyball. From there, I moved to Lethbridge to finish my degree at the U of L. I then moved up north to complete my MScPT at U of A.

Being from a small town in southern Alberta, there wasn’t a ton to do except “sport”. I played volleyball, slo-pitch, basketball, hockey, badminton, and track and field. I still enjoy playing recreational slo-pitch throughout the summer and continue to stay as active as I can whether it be playing beach volleyball, going to the gym or hitting up a court to play some sports.

I enjoy maintaining an active lifestyle and am known to be a bit of an animal-person. Our house is chaotic with a toddler and 4 animals, but I wouldn’t mind adding another dog or two to our fur-family!

I am passionate about educating clients. Knowledge is power and understanding your injury is the first step in the rehabilitation process.

I am so excited to continue my career here at Peak and I can’t wait to meet you!
